S-100 Homebrew Projects
A long time ago, I received both an Altair 8800b and an IMSAI 8080. The Altair was in a serious state of disrepair and after months of work, it's operational. In the process I discovered that there are some S-100 things I should build to make the machine more stable and versatile.
- Memory Board. This is a 64k memory board consisting of 56k of RAM and 8k of EPROM. It's a very simple implementation which uses high-density SRAM chips (a 32k and three 8k). The two EPROM sockets accommodate two, 2732 EPROMs. The board is not as flexible as commercial memory boards that were originally available, but at least it is a low-power, stable, board. Here's the schematic.
