For those out there using an Applicard, you may have noticed that dBase II doesn't work correctly. To be exact, the screen fills with L's when the program, version 2.4 is used with the Applicard operating system. The Applicard speeds things up considerably, so when I found that dBase II didn't work correctly, it was quite annoying. A phone call down to PCPI helped me to solve the problem. They sent me Technical Support Note #43, which addresses this very problem on the Apple. To begin the process, copy DDT.COM onto your dBase II diskette and type the following instructions that don't appear from DDT. DDT DB.COM -F39DC,39DE,0 -S12C 012C 29 28 012D 00 . -^C A>SAVE 75 DB.COM Actually, the instructions were slightly different. Instead of the line that says 012C 29 28, the actual instructions said to type in an 80 instead of a 28. I tried typing in an 80 and it didn't work, but the 28 seems to work fine.
