Joe's HP 9000 200 Series Computer Family

The picture below was copied from a 1983 HP configuration guide for the HP 9000 200 series computers. It shows all but one of the models of this family. Only the 9000 217 model is missing and that's because I have never found that model in any of HP's literature, it's not even in their catalogs!

Also not shown in this photo is the very popular HP 98203A keyboard. This keyboard was called the Nimitz, because it was *so* large compared to the stock 9816 keyboard that they thought it looked like an aircraft carrier! It's the same keyboard as that built into the 9826 and 9836 computers, except in a separate and larger case with a connector suitable for the 9000 216 or 220.

The 9000 216 with it's tiny standard keyboard is shown in the front left. The 9000 226 is shown in the front right. Behind it is the modular 9000 220 system, this picture only shows the monitor, CPU box and keyboard, there are no disk drives on this system. The 9000 236 with the monochrome display is shown in the back center and the 9000 236C with the color display is shown in the back left.
