IIRC, Back in the early 80's,  Moto tried to get second-sourcers Signetics
and Mostek (IIRC) to adopt Versabus, but they wouldn't sign on, most
notably because the VersaBus card size was relatively huge.  VME appears to
be the compromise that took Versabus and shrunk it to the Eurocard size.
