And old laptops with somewhat weak batteries can be considered to have
their own built in UPS's. :-)
With a build in ethernet port, and two PC cards, you can create quite a
nice router. Just set them up
to not go to sleep when you close the lid, and you're set.

and of course swapping parts. :-)
And maybe sacrificing a 386 or two. >;-)
