Copying Heathkit manuals

I was wondering about this.  Some vendors, like
tektronix say explicitly that this is OK if it
is for a product no longer supported.  I'm asking
because I offered to make a copy for a friend (Sine
Square Wave Audio Generator) manual, but I'm not sure
I should. Yes, I know there are gobs of people selling
copies on the net.  Ideas?
