I have ESSI + ESI (dual head) in my Octane and it works well. Make sure
that there is no dust in the air inlets. IIRC there is also a PROM
setting for fan speed...

It is quite common for SGI GFX to run hot. The SolidIMPACT in my Indigo2
R10k runs almost hot enough top burn your fingers if you touch the heat
sinks.
