Bleh.  Comparing a 3090 to a modern PC is meaningless.  I have no doubt 
that there will *eventually* be a PC more powerful (read having more I/O 
throughput capacity) than today's System z10.  But by then mainframes 
will have moved on.  I'll bet a cellphone or pocket scientific 
calculator would have more horsepower than a first-generation S/360.
