After some further googling on the cctalk archives
I noticed these two databooks/manuals would contain some form of a 
programmers reference manual for this chip.
-->AMD Microprocessors and Peripherals data book 1985
-->Floating Point Program Manual Am9511A/Am9512

I hope somebody would still have these.
