Hehe, I have seen the magentic water trick on UK kids show "How 2". That used to be great for cool and entertaining science stuff.

It's actually a slightly polar molecule because its shape is more like
     O
    / \      than   H--O--H  (exaggerated by limitations of ASCII art)

If you've not seen this demo, try the following: rub a plastic rod to give it a slight static charge.  Run a thin slow stream of water from a tap, and then bring the charged rod close to the stream.
