Here's a great document that addresses the floppy data separator in 
detail:

Weird that it's not on the National site--but here it is, from India, 
no less.

Wonder if someone could lean on the suits at National to leave all of 
their old app notes online?  It can't use that much space and there's 
a lot of good information in them, even the old ones.
