At one point he was giving out the programming specification... problem 
is, it's in German. I did translate it to English, but can't find the 
DOC file anywhere. I bet it's on a backup disc somewhere, I just don't 
know which one.

Joerg Schuler did an open-source PReader driver for Linux -- it's on the 
above website.
