Ah yeah, I've seen them around as well.  The threaded-rod is a
blessing to civilization.

Although not indicative of any trend, I'm going to share my
Bell/Teletype table because it's cool:

I assume Teletype actually made it, but who knows.  I was told by the
seller that it was installed by Bell as part of a turnkey "phone room"
in a city building. complete with your own human attendant.
