Hmm, i think maybe his place has a smell like this:

stearinljus (candles)
some glögg (mulled wine)
julskinka (ham)

or as in our case:
lutfisk (dried ling later on soaked in lut and boiled) och potatis
(potatoes) och vitsås (a white sauce.)
