You might find it entertaining to know that I was just talking with 
colleagues that are currently using Proxy ARP to solve the lack of 
subnet problem at 40 Gbps line rate.

It's the same old problem, but this time it's how to sub-divide a /26 
into a /27 and two /28s without the router for the /26 being re-configured.

So Proxy ARP FAR from dead.
