   Yup...I don't know when they released it, but I think it was  
sometime last summer.

   I doubt it, and I sure hope not.  Rampant, undisciplined use of  
the GCC "extensions" cause great gnashing of teeth for everyone not  
running GCC under Linux on a PC.
