I guess I should add, that there are 10-year old RS/6000s (43P models) 
that run current versions of AIX (5.3), and can run most any OSS you'd 
want to throw at them.

I spend most of my time using konsole (kde tabbed xterm), kmail (IMAP 
client) and firefox.  Beyond that, everything else is mostly just 
another X-windows or console application.
