I can;t find the original reply on-list, so I am assuming it was off-list.

The Briel solution will convert PS/2 to something parallel.  I have not 
been able to Google for the specific Apple II format, but I assume it is 
straight parallel ASCII.

For quick turnaround, the $29.00 would be a good investment.

My solution is PS/2 only, so it can live on a much smaller uC.
