That strikes me as a complete non-sequitur.

I want to change one phrase : 

'That bitmapped displays did take of and eventually completely displaced 
vector displays just proves my point hat vector displays are not graphic 
displays'.

I think that vector displays are now rarely used except for specialised 
application. But I would also claim that vector displays are most 
certainly a from of graphic display by any reasonable definition.

So how you can claim your original statement is beyond me.
