It was a bear to properly emulate that sequence in tcpser, as many BBS 
systems used it to hang up:

in lieu of dropping DTR.

I'm not quite sure I have it *exactly* emulated, but it must be close 
enough, as I never get bug reports on that aspect of it anymore.
