I do not know the specific differences, but, I do know that if you put CX
toner in a PC10 copier cartridge, you get a white on black image, but not
a clean one - it vaguely resembles solarized photos.
CX also makes vaguely round dots "inscribed" in a rectangular grid, that
do not overlap [much]. You can not get a really good black.
On the SX, which is a engine that is much different from the CX and PC
ones, the dots are larger, and overlap, so you can get a much richer
