Maybe someone should invent a SCSI target board (old, parallel SCSI
interface) that turns it into iSCSI initiator over ethernet on the
other side and then your actual disk is anything you can connect to a
Linux box or other server running iSCSI target host code.  Now you can
have multiple old systems connecting to your storage pool, which would
essentially be a SAN made from a Linux box.
