Sundance SMT227 Fibre Optic Communications TRAM

Features
Description

The SMT227 'Fibre Optic' TRAM is a size 2 module providing long distance transputer link communication and control. The device conforms to the TRAM specification, and is supplied as a two unit system. Each TRAM has the ability to reset, analyse and communicate with a remote transputer network - thereby removing the requirement for the host system to be in close proximity to the transputer system. The SMT227 supports transputer link communications up to distances of 1 kilometer at data rates of 20MBit/s. The TRAM also supports link speeds of 10 and 5MBits/s. At a distance of 1 kilometer, and operating at 20MBits/s, the SMT227 has a theoretical error rate of less than 1 in 1,000,000,000,000.
