My neighbor had a Citroen. The reservoir for the radiator was directly
above the distributor. If the radiator cap leaked even a tiny bit, when
it got hot it dripped onto the distributor, shutting down the engine. I
guess that was their overtemperature protection system. And every wire
in the car went directly to the rat's nest on top of the battery.

NEVER allow a mechanic within 50 feet of the vehicle! We both
regard(ed) such people as being one level below computer Field
Service.
The guy who serviced my Mercedes 190D in the early 1970s had been
trained at the factory in Stuttgart. Then he retired.
