One of my 'lurker' friends wasn't
seeing messages. Given that what
I'd heard was that the member list was reconstructed from archives
of people who had *mailed to the list*, I suggested resubscribing,
which has apparently fixed my friend's problem.

reconstructed the list by parsing
OUTBOUND emails (ie. the list sending to subscribers). Not from
inbound emails (people emailing to the list).
