NetBSD works better on the VAX. I suggest that you
check it out. It runs
on a far wider variety of hardware than FreeBSD.
Not that I intend to remove VMS from my VAX, but does NetBSD
support 3rd party disk controllers, such as the Dilog ESDI setup that
I have on mine?
