    Nah, not even close.  In the unit I mentioned
in my other
 message on this topic, the keyboard encoder processor (which also
 did a bunch of other housekeeping) was a PIC16C65B clocked at
 32KHz.  (no typo there) 
 
 I don't see that being able to handle talking to a PC keyboard,
 though. 
 
   Yeah we might have to bump the clock rate up to a screaming
1MHz. ;)  (I personally have done it at 4MHz with lots of cycles to
spare)
