 Probably should be text/plain. I note that you're using vanilla Elm (I'm
 using the ME+ branch myself). 
 
...and I, in turn, have been using pine for a number of years
without becoming aware of any similar reception problems.  I have
had folks comment on a missing attachment, but only when I forgot
to attach it :(
