I'm not sure its a temprature issue, as some have
assumed. A dishwasher may have
very powerful waterjets and a lot of vibration. The dammage may be mechanical,
possibly a bonding wire detachment.
At the incoming test group I used to work in quite a few lots of parts
specified some percentage of the parts undergo PIND (Particle Impact
Noise Detection) testing. The shock and vibration provided by the
PIND tester was much higher than any that would be encountered in a
dishwasher.
