If you have a CDROM burner, http://www.linuxiso.org is your friend. They
have most distributions there. But I'd still suggest Gentoo.

If I download it from somewhere - I'd like to partition this laptop to
get a feel for it. That brings up the Question of idiot-proof partitioning
utilities - because if it can be broken - I'll break it first.
