HP recommends cleaning the heads on the 14" drives with a flat wand, and a
cleaning sleeve that fits over it. They also recommend the same device for

Even if you don't find these, you can still use Q-tips
with a little care to not over stress the spring mounting.
It is important to keep the heads clean. It doesn't
take long to damage a disk with a little something stuck
to the heads.

Since the subject has already been brought up...I'm still on the look out
for at least a couple Color-I Plus monitors in or near Houston. Working
not an issue, but I'd prefer units without major physical damage
(scratched tube face, etc). I won't however turn away a damaged unit that
can be used for parts.

They are on Ebay weekly... its the more difficult to find 500's, 600's
and 732's that aren't on there all that often.

I had a display sent to me recently that was packed fairly well (solid
foam blocks surrounding the item) and it still got damaged in transit.
They must've thrown it off the back of the truck.
