I was able to get over my PDP-11 depression after programming 6502's and
Z80's for 10 years.
I finally worked on the 68K in the late 80's, It felt like an old shoe.

Yes, the PDP-11 machine language was INCREDIBLY brilliant,
and did the very best with what you could do in 16 bits!
