It is a sad comment on our society that there could be a need to tell
people.
Are there really people who were not taught that the first time that they
encountered a threaded fastener?
It even applies to mundane things like screw caps on bottles. I keep
on seeing people have problems screwing the cap back on a bottle of
water or similar where, if they turned it anticlockwise (as we say
this side of the Pond) until the threads engaged it would go on first
time.
