Even a 360 would almost require another transformer at the poll . You could
heat your house.

168? No WAY! Massive weight, water cooling and massive
power consumption. But, a friend of mine had a 370/145 in a
bedroom of his house. We were trying to power it up with
the standard motor/generator set. but, to reduce the parts
they had to stock, I suspect IBM used a one size fits all
scheme. The motor was a 20 HP monster, but the 145 CPU only
used about 1600 W DC. Vast overkill, and the reactive power
that motor drew exceeded anything we could supply. We did
get it to spin, but had to have a guy hold the handle on the
breaker!
