setblk 0 does not work in this case. If I can't
even get out of the
starting gate to read *anything* then I think I need a new drive. I
am happy to be proven wrong but I think I will try another drive.
Your error messages indicate that the available buffer is too small for
the tape record, but they also seem to indicate that everything else
understands that the block size is variable. Have you tried just making
the bs= or ibs= large?
