It appears my telephone line may also be dead.
I just phoned the telephone company to enquire about my account balance.
The automaton on the other end said:
"If you are calling about the number you have dialled from, please press 1."
so I pressed 1.
Then it asked for my account number which I provided.
Then it said:
"Your service is currently impacted by a network outage. Our technicians are
working to repair the fault and restore service as quickly as possible."
"Estimated restoration time is 11:00 AM on 17th June. Thank you for your
patience." (This was at 11:45).
a) Why is this stupid thing trying to tell me about an non-existant fault
on my line?
b) Why does this stupid thing think it can tell me about a fault on my line
using the line it thinks is faulty in order to tell me?
(I'm not sure this Artificial Insemination thing is any use at all...)
